Re: Dappi Nylon Kool Aid Dye Pictorial

Thank you for such a great tutorial! I am using BWSS on my 2 in diapers do you think the kool aid would work with them as well? I have heard of doing this with PF so I might have to try it.

I wonder if that wouold work for a prefold? It sounds awesome, and a lot cheaper/brighter than buying a lot of dyes (like spending $5 each for each color

This only works with 100% nylon or wool... so it works on BG 1.0, Bumkins and Dappi and any other cover that is made of the same material. You have to use something different for cotton.

I guess it is a good thing I didn't go out and try it yet

Wow, this thread came back out of nowhere. Thanks mamas!! Ditto Paula in that kool aid only works on nylon and wool. It won't hold on other materials.

Kikki--I haven't tried putting more than 1 cover in at a time, but I imagine it'll work just fine as long as just have the covers fully submerged in the dye bath and weighted down. Oh and another note, you may wanna rotate your spoons or whatever you use to weight them down with every once in a while, so as not to get spots that didn't take the dye.

Re: Dappi Nylon Kool Aid Dye Pictorial

Bella Junction has a HUGE Kool-Aid / Flavor-Aid dye color chart... chart at bottom of this page:
http://hyenacart.com/bellajunction/i...p?c=36&p=13290

another HUGE great color chart here... she does kool aid mixes as well as wilton
AND she dyed acrylic as well as wool
http://www.wrappedrocks.com/koolaiddye.html

a smaller color chart with another how-to here...
for the record, she seems to have gotten much brighter colors than the chart above
