Is this crazy?

We are planning on moving very soon and we do the family bed thing with our 2 1/2 year old and 1 1/2 year old we want to make 1 room in to the BED room like all it will have is a bed and we were thinking of putting a king and then whatever size will fit just on box springs. Is this crazy? We kinda did this before we had 1 bed room for our computers and entertainment and and one BED room for just our beds which we had 2 crib mattresses and a queen size bed which the kids just ended up on the queen kicking me or daddy off cause they sprawl out. Oh and if your wondering what the living room was, it was the play room for the kids all toys and such we dont have a tv and we dont ever have company so yup.

any better suggestions?

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Although, our bed sharing days are over, we struggled getting 4 of us comfortably on a queen, then a king for quite sometime. Having them at floor level would have been easier, then add another matress or 2 it would have been much more fun to sleep with them.

Sounds like a good plan! I'd go for it if we had the room!

Re: Is this crazy?

We kind of have a simular set up right now. We are building our house and moved a year ago. We are all sleeping in one room (the BED room!) until the other rooms are finished.
We have a queen bed on the box spring on the floor. DS (2.5) can climb on and off at will as well as our 2 doggies. We do have the crib mattress on the floor across the room and we put DS in it after he has gone asleep. Most nights he wanders back to our bed.
I am liking the arrangement and I am not sure what we will do when the other bedrooms are completed.

Re: Is this crazy?

We still co-sleep with our almost 4 yo and 2 yo. When I was pregnant with the younger one we bought a twin mattress and box spring and put it on the floor butted up against our queen mattress and box spring, which gave us 20" more across than just a king would have. We all 4 sleep very comfortably with this set up.
