anyone use prefolds or flats for PP mama cloth?

I hate pads. Even mama cloth (I use sea sponges for AF). I don't want to buy PP mama cloth, and I don't have the money to do so anyway. But I have a good amount of infant prefolds and a TON of flats, some smaller (birdseye gerber) and others larger- LL's. Has anyone ever just tri-folded them into undies (or, in my case, DH's boxer briefs). Any tips?

Yes, I did that after the main pp bleeding stopped around 4 days pp. I found that boyshort type underwear work best for keeping everything in place. I also just trifolded washcloths that I bought for the birth and that worked fine also. I really hate pads. I usually use a diva cup for AF, but that is a big no no for pp bleeding...

I used newborn prefolds once I got home from the hospital because regular pads give me a rash if I wear them too often. I only used them at home and wore disposible pads if people were coming over or I was going out. I'm an every hour pad changer and sleep on a towel at night due to me being paranoid about bleeding on things.

Yes, I had to do that before. I found snug fitting undies were best.

I tried it last time I gave birth even though I had a few dozen postpartum pads, just because it was always recommended. Honestly, preemie prefolds worked just fine, although they were a little bulky You just have to remember to change them because they don't have a leak proof lining.

Yes, I used flats folded up in some tight stretchy underwear and plan to do that again this time. It worked fine, no staining, after a few days I used mama cloth during the day.

Yup! I had old foam filled Gerber prefolds (or whatever they were.. Not the normal then Gerber ones) that I used instead of pads. Loved it!
