I was induced with both if mine. I started labor on my own several times but always stalled. First was 38+4 and 2nd was 41 weeks. My dream is to go into labor and be able to labor at home and experience my water break. Honestly don't ever see that happening though.

Water breaking is the least common way for labor to begin, statistically.

not entirely, unfortunately.
had to be induced at 41 weeks with DD, then with DS my water broke 3 days before the due date, but my cx just would NOT pick up the way they should have been. we had to go into the hospital and go on pitocin. it was a very long labor, but he finally came out!

Re: If you didn't go into labor on your own with #1, did you with #2?
i've only had one so far but DD was 41.5 weeks along and if she had waited a day longer I'm sure they would have insisted on an induction. I really wanted a natural birth and wanted to avoid pitocin. I took Evening Primrose oil the last few weeks and used black and blue cohosh a couple times. Not sure if that did the trick but it was worth the shot for me.
