Re: What is the best fabric for cloth wipes?

I really like just plain flannel and baby washcloths. I have some fancy flannel/sherpa and I just don't like them as well for some reason. I think they just seem like too much to me. Although now that we've started solids, I might change my mind.

I've never used SB wipes, but we store our wipes dry and the cv/sherpa wipes soak water right up Maybe try one side with flannel and sherpa on the other.

I know. I didn't expect it to happen. I even called the owner of the on-line store I bought them from. She said it was typical. I was sad. I'm trying some that are flannel/100% cotton knit. We'll see. I think I got a good price and I'm excited to see if I like them. I may try some other combos too since I will need more. Thanks for the input, Mamas.

another vote for flannel and sherpa here

i haven't had good luck with velour, it's too smooth and doesn't clean up much and i've avoided terry because i'm afraid it would get a little crispy over time

I use pieces of scrap fleece, which I spritz with my homemade solution. It works great for us. The fleece is so fuzzy and soft.

I use the tons of baby washcloths I got from baby showers. I like the more heavy duty terry ones, b/c like others have said, I find the more velor they feel, the less they "grab."

I really like my jersey knit wipes, after 13 months they have done the job with just 1 or 2 wipes per mess. My flannel ones work just the same.

I like my OBV/terry combo ones, but 1-ply flannel works well when we are out and about.
