My wool feels very tacky when dry,but then feels soft and normal again after about 2 wearings. My dad wears it only at night and at naps, and I literally haven't washed or treated any of my wool since February. It is SO low maintenance once you get going. One of my 3 covers is ready to be washed again - it's starting to smell a teeny bit like urine when dry.
Thanks! This makes me feel a little more confident that Iím doing it right. 😂

I really enjoyed knitting the pants until I got to the legs, which are just stockinette stitching around and around and around for like 12 inches. I got so bored with them I haven't even finished 1 leg. But the waist and butt we're super fun. So much more to focus on! I AM going to finish them this summer though.

Yes, I prefer small projects for this reason. I get bored with too much repetition! I donít know if I could ever make a blanket... 😬 Good thing everyone gives you a million baby blankets anyway. 😆

Re: DIY wool questions

LOL I prefer the parts where you don't have to think. I do my knitting at night and don't have much brain power left at that point. I'm currently making a baby blanket...I think I don't mind the repetition, but I'm on a time limit here and don't like being so rushed to get it done before baby comes. After this blanket I have one pair of toddler longies to do, then it's back to blanket as I need to extend my now 2yo's newborn blanket before fall weather. Not excited.

Re: DIY wool questions

I second that! I never got around to knitting 2yo DS's new wool pants until last week, so I just made them shorts and will add the legs in the fall. I totally forgot about doing that til I came across a picture of 5yoDD making her 3rd birthday cake wearing a pair of shorties which have now been longies for so long I did NOT remember that they were ever shorts.
