Re: waiting to start solids?

My Lo is three months and I am crying with us the idea that I will not be enough one day. Good to hear that there is no rush.

Re: waiting to start solids?

My first son was about 7.5 months when we started him on baby foods and my youngest is 5.5 and he started a couple of weeks ago. But we're taking a much more gradual approach to him as he is being breastfed and he got a bit constipated at the beginning.

Re: waiting to start solids?

I'm taking my time as well. Mine is almost 7 months and some days he loves purees and others he won't touch them. I don't stress either way. I'm so glad to read that others wait too and it's okay to do that.

If they act like they want what's on your plate, they may be hungry enough for it. Have you looked into baby-led weaning? Instead of feeding traditional baby food go straight to table food

Re: waiting to start solids?

I don't see any harm. I'm also wanting to wait. My daughter is almost 6 months and most parents I know with babies around her age have already started but my instincts tell me to wait so that I will do. Plus, I honestly cannot distinguish whether she is interested in food or not right now since she reaches for everything and wants to put everything in her mouth. If before I decide to start her, she shows apparent interest, then I will.

Re: waiting to start solids?

I have started all of mine at 7 to 8 months. I would give them a bit off my plate before that. When they were interested, but I saved the trouble of really eating lots of food until a little later.
