Hi all! I'd like to order my almost 1 yr old a few AIOS. What's everyone's favorites and why? Made in the US or Canada is a plus!
Thanks

Re: Favorite AIO

BumGenius Elemental 3- fit well, absorbent, dry time is good, durable, trim.

Smart Bottoms is my second favorite. Very absorbent. The PUL comes down far on the baby's bottom in the back which is strange to me.

Thirsties Naturals are third runner up. A pretty nice diaper.

Thanks Chirpy! Where do you buy your Elements? Cotton babies?

Re: Favorite AIO

I love both Thirsties NAIO and Smartbottoms 3.1. The Thirsties take forever to dry imo (I use mostly prefolds and covers though) but are trim and very absorbant. With a booster I can use them for nights on the 10month old who nurses up to 3 times a night. They also have sales more often so it's easier to not pay retail.

The Smartbottoms 3.1 are also very absorbent, trim, and imo have the best prints. I don't mind the long tongue because to me it allows me to adjust where the absorbency is needed at. Smartbottoms only allows sales twice a year on regular lineup. But many retailer exclusives are discounted and those going out of business are able to lower the cost. I know that Lil Tulips has several of their exclusives discounted right now.

Nicki's has a quantity discount if you buy 6 or more. You can also use their FIVE coupon for another 5% off. That's the cheapest I have found. Elementals rarely go on sale.

Re: Favorite AIO

Ehhh. I have some Freetimes, but I wouldn't say I love them. I have no other aios, though. Why do you want aios? I prefer pockets - once stuffed, they act like aios, but they're more versatile. You can stuff them with whatever you want, and switch it up whenever you need to as well. Freetimes have 2 flaps in them that I think are a little messier than pockets, and they're also a little confusing to grandmas/sitters/aunts/etc. BUT it depends on what you want aios for. If you just want them for grandmas or sitters or whatever, I'd do pockets and stuff them in advance. If you want them to make your life easier, then pockets might annoy you to stuff every laundry day. I personally don't mind it, and I prefer them over the freetimes, which I also have to fold on laundry day anyway.

Re: Favorite AIO

I have never used AIOs but bought a few for this baby that I like. Newborn Simplex for now and then medium Nana's Bottoms for when she outgrows the Simplex. Haven't tried them yet...but I like how they look. I know Simplex are pricey though and Nana's Bottoms aren't made anymore so I don't know what I would do if I had to buy them new! I bought mine here and on eBay and they ended up being a decent price for what appear to be some very nice diapers. I prefer AIOs to pockets because you can get them with natural fibers against the skin, which as far as I know is not usually a pocket diaper option. Plus I hate stuffing/unstuffing pockets.
