Re: The EBAY thread

I received a book with that is in Acceptable condition but listed as very good. All corners of the book are damaged. I took pictures and requested a return. Seller has 30-day returns with buyer paying to ship. The seller offered a partial refund instead of the return. I do not want the book and can easily order from someone else. It took them 3 days to respond to the return request.
The book was $4 free shipping and refund offer is $2.
If I insist on a return and full refund, will I be required to pay to ship?

Re: The EBAY thread

If the seller sold you a book for $4 with free shipping, and assuming if the book was damaged on all corners I'm assuming it was a heavyweight book and at least 2 pounds, then he literally made nothing on the sale after shipping, paypal fees and ebay fees. Maybe 10 cents. So it's no wonder he would like to avoid a return and settle it with a partial refund.

I'm not clear on your question. You obviously opened the return as "Damaged, defective" or "Item not as described", right? In that case the seller will be required to pay return shipping if you insist on the return.

It is a kids book and weighs less than 1 lb, shipped in a poly mailer. Yes did open it as not as described. I attached a photo (or at least I tried too) of one of the corners.
I just wanted to verify that I would not have to pay the shipping, as Buyers may try to say I do. Thank you for your response.

Re: The EBAY thread

It doesn't matter what sellers say. That's the sad thing for sellers. If a buyer opens a return request with a seller-fault reason, Ebay automatically lets the buyer print a return label and charges it to the seller - no matter what the merits of the case.
