Great! I would definitely text the seller again and give a similar message, though more courteously put. SO many people on CL are out to make a quick buck no matter what, and odds are good they KNEW about the recall but didn't think they could still take it back. So many people sell recalled items on CL just to make some money on an unsuspecting buyer that CL had to create rules specific to recalled goods for children and babies. It would be good, IMO, to let the seller know YOU took the proper route they should have taken and you now have cash to show for it. Might encourage them to do the right thing next time.

I was not going to send the seller another message, but my husband insisted. He said if I didn't he would.

So, I sent this...

"I assume you didn't want to offer a return on the bassinet since I didn't hear from you. So, I took the bassinet and recall info to the store and they honored the recall and gave me a $137 gift card to replace it."

I felt horrible doing that, because you just never know a person's situation. Maybe they have a sick child and need money for medical bills? I don't know. They did have 6 kids. I just didn't want to come across rude.

You were factual. Rough financial spot or not, they illegally sold you goods, and you were letting them know you reached resolution without their assistance. They should feel quite a measure of relief about your update.
