Received the wrong item from an online retailer

I shopped at on Cyber Monday and they said each order would include a free gift. On top of that, I spent $150 to get free shipping. My package was misdelivered, I spent a lot of time on the phone about it, and eventually I had to drive somewhere to pick it up. None of this was Palumba's fault. I finally received it on Friday and got a chance to open it Saturday morning. It contained what I thought was the free gift, plus another item I didn't order, a gyroscope. I automatically thought it was just another free gift. When I got to thinking about what I ordered, I realized an original Slinky was missing. I checked my order and I did order it and not get it. The Slinky is worth $4.99 and the gyroscope, which also comes in a small box, is worth $6.99.

So, my husband has enjoyed the gyroscope, but it isn't what we ordered and we were done with shopping. I don't know where to get a Slinky around here, and I don't want to go to a place like Toys R Us and never intended to. Part of me just wants to let it go and try to find a slinky around here somewhere, but part of me feels like I should have what I ordered and it's a lot of trouble trying to wander around trying to find what I thought I already had sorted out.

Should I let it go or should I "demand" the item I originally ordered? What would you do? Thanks.

I would contact them to send you the correct item with no shipping charge. Good customer service will tell you to keep the gyroscope, imo.

You can let them know you didn't get the slinky without "demanding" it. Just go in with a positive attitude that they know how to fix it for you.
