OH, and more often then not when I hear of this it usually turns out to be the laundry products. Maybe try switching to a super sensitive or chemical free alternative. We have to wash my son's without regular detergent and with an orange based alternative instead because everything else gives him hives.

Whatever is giving it to him probably does not need to have direct contact with the skin at rash site to give hives in that spot. When I get them it sarts on my hands and feet (feels like I am walking on rocks ) then joints, knees, elbows ect and then to other parts (although it rarley gets that far)
It can be pretty difficult to pinpoint the cause, good luck mama!
