What can I put on her face?

My oldest has had a fierce cold for the past week and has been wiping her nose with her shirt sleeve constantly Which has caused her face to become very chapped and sore (I'm assuming it's from her wiping snot on it all day, despite my telling her to get a tissue 500 million times a day).

chap stick or plain ol' petroleum jelly. My DD use to lick her lips whenever she got a cold when she was a little kid, I use to shove tissue in her jean pocket, tell her to use it and then pack on the petroleum jelly.

DS1 has this right now, his cheeks get soooo red. Awhile back someone gave us a Burt's Bees gift basket and in it was a 'Baby Bee All Better Balm'. Its main ingredients are almond oil, beeswax and cocoa butter (good for irritated chapped skin), so Ive been rubbing it on his cheeks. It makes his cheeks shinny, but it isn't thick and greasy. It goes on smoothly & thin, so if he does forget and rubs his face it doesn't make a mess.

Petroleum jelly, it works great for chapped noses

I love cocoa butter for chapped faces. I have ha few cocoa butter sticks that get used for lips, cheeks, noses and chins on my boys- they love them because they smell and taste good and I love how easy and effective they are.

We use lanolin here - I use it for everything! DD has a nasty, snotty cold right now and I slather her little cheeks and nose with lanolin before bed, and do a smaller amount a couple times a day. I also use it when my nose gets raw.

Re: What can I put on her face?

I usually start with lotion and then add something on top -- lanolin, un-petroleum jelly, or chap stick (usually Burt's Bees or Kiss My Face)
