Grovia AI2 vs. Bumgenius Pockets

Ok, so I stumbled upon the grovia shells with the organic snap in liners on craigslist and I am in love!!! I have been using bumgenius pockets religiously for the past year and 1/2, but I think I have found my true love!! I had bought some best bottoms because I thought the concept of keeping the shell and switching out the liner was brilliant, but, I realized that the plasticy material was right up against my son's skin and that was not going to work. So I continued useing the BG's, until yesterday. I love grovias meshy material inside the shell and the waterproof backing on the removable liners. It seems like it's going to be a lot less laundry, less work (no stuffing) and i don't even have to touch a wet liner because of the waterproof backing! Has anyone made this discovery or am I missing something ?

I actually didn't like the grovia ai2 because my kids would always get pee/poo on the shell too and I'd have to change the whole thing every time anyway. I did love the boisoaker option when traveling though. For everyday dipes I went back to bg 4.0.

I like them, but the organic inserts take as long to dry as my BGEs! So I would not have a full stash of them, since my 4.0s with hemp inserts dry so much faster

I loved them for a bit too but we had leaks like 30% of the time.....so I sold them all and switched to Flips. We are using the Flip OC inserts and Thirsties hemp prefolds and hemp inserts and have not had one leak, even with the super trim inserts!!

However I also don't love that the PUL is up against the side of his butt, and it IS gross when he has a huge EBF poo that gets all over the back of the slick inside...mesh seems like it would be nicer....Glad you love them! Wish I could find a happy medium. And some prints....

I love my grovia. I have both snaps and aplix and both are great. Best aplix I have ever seen and it's unlike any other. I have both kinds of soakers. I find the cotton is more absorbent and I love that it's backed with a waterproof layer

Yeah, they weren't right for us either. I love their prints and they're a high quality system but we had constant leaks b/c the covers just didn't fit my DS right. We've had great luck with Flips with their organic inserts and those are our go-to diapers now. I won't give up our full stash of BG 4.0s though, b/c they're much easier for poo clean-up and daycare/babysitters. I loved my Flips at first but there are times when the pockets are easier (like the couple bouts of constant pooping that we've had from teething). I'd recommend holding on to your 4.0s for 3-4 months before selling them, but that's just me.

Thanks for the tips, everybody... I am really, really hopeing these work out, cuz i'm about to buy more liners!! I did have two leaks today, but I am staying on the hopeful side!!
