Re: I did everything you said! and my diapers still reek

They're cotton and obv, thats all we have. My washer WAS smelling stinky so I just bleached it, hopefully that helps. Would that have been a cause of all this?

I also ordered some RLR. This is just so frustrating, I mean, I'd have thought I'd have problems with pockets not all natural cotton!! And my piddle poddle smells and we've only used/washed it twice. So I know its something I'm doing wrong.

I don't know how anyone keeps their diapers smell free without bleach. I have to use it EVERY single wash.

I had issues with stink for a while too. I found that my problem was that I wasn't using enough detergent. I also added Oxyclean to my routine (awesome stuff!) Here is my no-stink routine in our front loader:

- short cold wash with 2 long squirts of Bac-Out
- long hot wash with extra rinse, 3/4 capful of Planet in dispenser, scoop of Oxyclean directly into machine
- short warm cycle with extra rinse

Try a wet pail with some Bac Out. I went through as many different washing methods as you - and I only use pfs and MF/hemp inserts. It wasn't just my inserts that were smelly, either...the pfs stunk just as bad.

I've used a wet pail for a few days now and it's the first time we've had NO stink at all. Not just morning stink - NONE at all. It's miraculous.

And my wash routine went from very annoyingly long and arduous - a cold short wash followed by a LONG hot wash followed by several post rinses.

Now it's just a spin, a cold rinse and then an 80 minute hot wash. Done. Into the dryer or hung outside. I feel like I've freed up so much more of my day. Now if I can just pull myself off of this site, lol.

ETA: I'm washing with Baby OxiClean and Crunchy Clean
