Re: Any October '17 mamas here yet?

Congrats, ladies!

Has anyone found out gender yet? I just made the appointment for the gender scan. May 30th! Super excited, I'll be about 18 weeks, last pregnancy I had to wait until 22.

I just barely started feeling some flutters that for sure aren't gas. Pretty sure the baby has been kicking me in the cervix...

I skipped the fluttery stage & went straight to full on kicks. Thanks, anterior placenta. I can actually see and feel movement from the outside now though, which is nice.

My older son keeps telling me the baby is a girl and he will call her "Monster Truck". He has said this many times (sometimes her name will be Monster Truck Driver/Racer), and has said its a girl from the very start. So we shall see when baby is born.

Haha, that's so fun. My son is 3 but I don't think he really understands what's going to happen in a few months. He likes looking at the ultrasound pictures and talking about the "baby in mommy's tummy". So we'll see.

We found out last week that we're having a girl! I'm super excited, I'll get to sew and knit lots of dresses! Unfortunately, we also found out that she has cysts on one of her kidneys. We got referred to a specialist and he said it looks like some type of cystic kidney disease. So now my husband, son and I all have to have renal sonograms, and I think they said something about doing a fetal mri for the baby. Not jazzed about that. The good news is that she seems to have one functioning kidney, so most likely she'll live a fairly normal life. It's just hard to keep myself from worrying.

My older son is 3.5. He loves babies and is super excited lol. Sometimes he just goes around asking everyone if they have babies in their bellies too lol.

Oh boo about baby. Hopefully it'll sort itself out or at least not be a big deal for her.
