Re: Minimalists: Extra bedding?
In our home every bed has two sets of lightweight sheets for spring/summer and two sets of flannel sheets for fall/winter.

Re: Minimalists: Extra bedding?
We have 4 beds in our house, and they are all different sizes -- we have a queen, guest bed is full, DS1 in a twin, DS2 in a toddler bed. We have three sets for our bed, all wedding gifts. Generally I use one set for 6 months or so, just washing and putting back on. Then when I decide I want something different, I will put those away and pull out another set to use for a while. We only have one set for the guest bed, so when someone stays over we just wash them and put them back on for the next guest. We have two sets for the twin bed, just in case, and they also perfectly fit our couch so we use those if we have more people over. We have quite a few crib sheets, since for quite a while DS1 was in the toddler bed and DS2 in the crib. Eventually I will go through those and clear some out.

We have 3 for the king master, but I HATE the one set, and another doesnt match my new color scheme, so I wash and put the set I like back on.
The baby has 5 sets, all used with siblings, but 1 is pink from dd so we don't use that one. The kids have 6 sets for 2 full beds. We had 4, but they just each got another set from my mil. I switch them out biweekly (or more often as needed). spares are kept under the bed. |

Re: Minimalists: Extra bedding?
A few years ago, I bought us a really nice set and got rid of both the cheaper scratchy sets. Don't regret it at all. Love that when I put the sheets back on the bed, they smell fresh and not like they've been sitting in the closet.

Re: Minimalists: Extra bedding?
I regret getting rid of some really pretty guest sheets. I just kept one set that we also use to camp with the blow up mattress. Now when I have guests, they have to sleep on flannel bear sheets rather than the crate and barrel ones I got rid of. At the time I purged them, we never had guests though.

Re: Minimalists: Extra bedding?
We only have one fitted sheet and one duvet (plus one set of pillow cases) and I used to love it. Now though, I wish I had a second set, as the baby spits up and DH works nights (thus there's almost always someone asleep on the bed) making it difficult to find the time to wash/dry/make the bed.
