Is Arianna a popular name?

We're planning on naming our new little one Arianna. I've been in love with that name for years now and can finally use it! But I hate common names. I have a very common name and have always hated it so I don't want my kids to have common names. I don't want wierd, but I don't like common. Lately I've been hearing the name Arianna a lot more than before. I don't know if it's cause the name is starting to get more popular or if it's just that I'm noticing it more now cause I plan on using it.

It could be that the name is starting to get popular, but it could be that you are just notiving more; much like when you are pregnant it seems like you see pregnant women everywhere

I think it's somewhat common, but I've never had a class full of kids with two of them being Arianna, in fact in all my years of teaching I've only had one Arianna.

It is popular around here. I work in a preschool with at least three.

The meaning of the name Arianna is: Form of the Greek Ariadne, meaning very holy. I love it even though its quite common as they say

It's pretty popular around here, but more for a little older than infants. I see a lot of 5-10 year old's with that name.

Re: Is Arianna a popular name?

My daughter used to be in two different daycare centers and none of the children had that name. It mustn't be popular here.

That said - a friend of mine had a baby when we were in high school (I graduated in '97, baby was born in '96) and she named her Arianna.

You can put your state and year in here (I usually go for the most recent year that they have to gauge if it's currently popular) to see if it's popular in your area
