Now of course he is ok with it as it is a fact and will be happening. He did not really want a fourth child though he knew I wanted another. As well it was a shock to me too, even though I thought it might occur, I really did not think it would!!!! A good shock, but still a shock!!!

As far as drinking I have been there. When I had a cold I was just honest and said I was not drinking because I was sick, tired or just said I might have one later. I don't know if my in laws suspected or not, I don't think they really did. So if you don't drink, don't worry about it, it might not even phase them. Or just order non alcohlic drinks, then they won't know difference.
that is probably the best way to go at it. I am wondering weather to tell him tomorrow because he works tomorrow night, and then hed be at work with it, but then if I wait another day, then hes off and we are supposed to have "date night" and if I tell him he may not want to see me for the rest of the night, so he can have time to think it over..... I dunno, I dunno, I dunno

Congrats, btw
I took my dollar tree test on monday morning by the time I flushed, washed my hands, etc the line was beaming back at me. My LMP was 3/1/10...so I'm one day ahead of you!
The dark test didnt have me 2nd guessing until someone said it was dark for this early. I put the drops on it set it down, and wiped myself and then kinda looked at it for a couple seconds and picked it up and it was that dark staring back at me! I really think I am due 12/7 and 4wks, esp since my LMP was so heavy.
so that will be cool we are in the same birth club!

Congrats mama. I know you weren't planning on seeing that second, line, but things will all work out. My $ tree test looked just like that at 13dpo as well.

Yes I would not tell him before work as otherwise it will make him have a hard day at work as that will be all he will be thinking about. Tell him when he can have time to process it and not have other things that he needs to do. Tell him on your date night. Either tell him early and then don't mention it again, unless he wants to. Or tell him later and then he can think about it on his own and it won't be a worry with your date night.

I must have run about 10 or 15 tests with almost all my pregnancies and it still did not seem real initially..... but the line kept getting darker which still surprised me.....

I felt the same way! I wanted it, but I didn't want it, I was excited, but I was also freaked out! It just takes a little time to work through, but I am days away from delivery and feeling much more calm and excited (see - the crazy emotions never end - ha ha) Seriously, I'm already in love with this baby and I'm sure it'll be the same for you.

Re: I just knew it, I had this feeling - - pics

so I told him this morning while he was getting in bed (he works nights) and I told him I hadnt had my period yet. and he asked "what, how many days?" I told him a couple, and then he said, "oh I wished you woulda waited to tell me that", I told him i did wait, then he said "god I hope your not pregnant". and then went to sleep. - wonder what hell say when he wakes up.. maybe hell forget, or I can postpone taking a test until tomorrow when hes off..... I can;t believe thats all he said, but I think I'm glad thats all he said.

Maybe you should put the positive by his toothbrush so when he brushes his teeth before bed he can see if and talk to you about it when he is ready to. That is what my sister did with her third that was unplanned, her husband waited three days to talk about it after thinking it over.

Re: I just knew it, I had this feeling - - pics

I'm 32 weeks prego with my first. We were trying for this one, but I didn't expect it to happen so quickly. We have been together for 6 years and never a pregnancy so I almost thought maybe there was something wrong. Then we finally decided that is was time to stop trying not to get prego, and bam! Not the first month, but the second I missed my period. Went to a clinic to take a free test and it was positive! I knew it in a way, and I really did want it, but I cried the whole time the guy sat there and explained that it was positive and that I need to start seeking prenatal care and all. I was scared out of my mind!!! Then I had to pick up DH and I wanted to wait until I could find a creative way to tell him, but I couldn't hold back the tears and let it out. He was shocked as well, but no tears. We didn't tell family until x-mas(and we found out the end of Sept) so by the time everyone else found out we had plenty of time to soak it in ourselves. Now we are scared of the labor and delivery. Then we will be scared with a newborn in the house. Its just big life changing events, they get to all of us. Congratulations, even if it is scary for now!
