What's the longest time your child has ever run a fever?

That was not teething related.

We're on day 4 of DD's fever virus and day .5 of DS2 with the same thing. The ped wants me to bring her in if it goes on past 5 days.

Just curious.

Re: What's the longest time your child has ever run a fever?

In December my 2.5 yo ran a 102 fever for over 2 weeks. We took him in, they could not find anything. All the cultures came back negative. He actually seemed to feel fine, other than hot, so we just waited, didn't even treat the fever. I figured whatever was going on, his body needed to burn it off. It eventually went away. Weird mystery virus I guess!

5 weeks and counting.
My younger guy has been hospitalized for a week of it.
He had an ear infection, sinus infection, eye infection, yeast infection in his digestive tract from 4 weeks of antibiotic, pneumonia, and dehydration.
He has been SO sick!
It started gradually with a fever & super runny nose with conjested chest. Everything mucusy got infected. He's been hoeing one tuff road of it lately. He is still running a temp & on antibiotics. They tell me he will get better soon, I sure hope they are right!
They've done bloodwork & a ton of tests.

Poor baby! and poor worried Mommy! Did he just have a bunch of back to back illnesses?

Yea, one complication after another.
Whatever started the initial cascade of infections in the mucusy parts is very antibiotic resistant. He's been on 6 different antibiotics. We finish this last one today. He still is bad though, so I bet we go back to the doctor tomorrow or Monday.
Yes, mama is very worried! I feel like I'm watching him decline with nothing I can do. It's very helpless. I feel like I'm on Mystery Diagnosis and I'm hoping that one doctor with a name will save him before it's too late.
It's awful

I hope your children get better soon!

Re: What's the longest time your child has ever run a fever?

DD had a fever last week for 5 days - bounced between 101 and 103. DS is on day 3 of a fever that tends to hover between 101.5-102.5, and I'm anticipating that it will last another day or two. A friend's LO is on day 4 of a fever as well (and there's been no contact between us) so I think it's just something that's going around.

5 days around 103 when DS was 13 months old. On day 5 I took him to the doctor and they said it was just a virus that would run its course. He was totally fine by day 10.
