Anyone's Aquadoodle Stop Working?

Our Aquadoodle doesn't work very well anymore. When you draw on it, the blue takes a while to show up and even then it is faint. It has been getting worse and worse to the point where it is nothing but frustrating for DD. She loved this thing, so I would like to get it working again. Eventhough they say to only clean it with water, I'm half tempted to throw it in the washing machine since just wiping it down with water hasn't helped. DH eventually tried Dawn on it and that didn't help either. I would just buy a new one, but I'm hesitant to buy another and have the same thing happen. Anyone else have this happen? Did you find a way to fix it?

Ours did that and I gave it to goodwill. Seems like a poorly made thing to me so I gave up on it.

We got one for our 6 yr olds first birthday. In the last year the blue is not as bright when they write on it. We've debated getting a new one for ds sometime. Ours has gotten a lot of play in 5 years so it doesn't bother me it is giving up. I wonder if they are not as well made now or something.

Yeah, we bought ours about a year ago. DD used it a lot, but I imagine no more than most kids. I sometimes wonder if part of our problem is the very hard water here. Maybe there is some sort of mineral build-up on it? It definitely looks a little dingy.

We're having this problem, too. I googled ways to fix it and diaperswappers shows up on the first page! I'm thinking of writing the company to see what they say- maybe there is some sort of replacement warrantee, although I'm not hopeful.

Try vinegar and baking soda. If it's a hard water problem, it should help to remove the film without ruining the material.
