I only put sunscreen on us if we are going to be swimming a while or for all day, extremely sunny expeditions.

Yup. I never thought about it until the ophthalmologist said that sunglasses are not needed for protection here and explained it.

I should say too that we do keep more skin covered than many people. So no shoulders exposed, and we do use a lot of wide brimmed hats or sun bonnets. But at the lake if we were going to be there a while mid-day I would still put sunscreen on them, we just only go in the evening or for a quick swim mid day--for schedule reasons.
