Lazy cats! How do I know I'm getting a good one.

I saw an ad specifically advertising feral mouser cat that needed a home base but would not make a good house cat.

Yeah, they came with the house. Undisclosed
The naked cats are ugly! I doubt they could be outside. Sunburn.

Rats are horrible.

I'm talking field mice. I want a terrier but no one is agreeing.

I don't know how to tell!!! Usually, a person will tell you if the mama cat is a good mouser. Like the ad you saw.

Ooo we have a couple of those zhu-zhu pets. They're super cheap at toysrus right now. They skitter around on the floor - I bet a cat would kill one.

we soak cottonballs with peppermint, put them in the attic, the cupboards, panty etc. and then we spray around the house. They dont like the smell. We live around cornfields

Re: Mice...I hate them and I need your knowledge.

We have mice that confine themselves to the basement occasionally. Every so often there will be an enterprising mouse that will try to come into living areas and for that we use snap traps. I don't like it, I kind of regret moving to an old house on 2 acres with a creek behind me, but I've made my bed and have to lay in it with the mice and the knotty pine paneling my husband adores. And oh yeah, I make my husband deal with the mice.

Similar situation, stream, marsh, lots of trees and an old foundation. It's been reinforced but as with any old house cracks develop. I'm embracing that if I want to live in a particular kind environment there is a price.

I have teenagers and my plan is to let them deal with critters.

I will be too busy losing my mind standing on a chair to go pick up anything.

I keep seeing the peppermint oil solution and I'm going to try it.

So I don't know about this cat now. I was at my friends and the cat was nowhere in sight and I was sneezing by the end.
