My Mood:
5mo old bedtime

OK so we have no sort of schedule in our house. i'd love to have one, but i have been convinced that its best to just follow DS's lead for now. So some days we wake at 5am, other days 9am. Some days, he goes to bed at 7pm, others 11pm, with no corresponding predictability. naps are also all over the board.
i was hoping to start a bedtime routine, something to ease him away from what we do now (nurse to sleep or nurse and then scream to sleep) and give him some structure to rely on.
what is/was your routine for a 5 mo old?

ETA: last night we tried changing into jammies, reading a book, singing a song, and nursing and rocking.....he just flailed around the whole time while nursing and refused to sleep. i didnt swaddle him (something i usually do) because he is rolling now and i read you shouldnt. but i ended up doing it to calm him enough to eat/sleep. also, he still sleeps in his swing...any tips for getting him into a bed (ours or his)?

My DD is 5 mo and just started a semi regular schedule for nighttime. Around 8:30pm-9am or 10 am. She HAS to nurse to sleep and wakes up alot, especially the first few hours after she goes down. The nursing to sleep is starting to drive me nuts, she uses me as a pacifier. If she takes a good nap she does sleep better at night. But I just keep reminding myself this won't last forever and I will miss this time snuggling in bed with her when it's gone.
