PCOS and planning

Any other moms with PCOS and having kids? Im 33 and just had a baby 6 months ago. We are trying again but not sure it will happen. First one we tried 6 months then were on meds for 3 months and with the spacing of the meds the doc thinks I got pregnant even without the meds, though I was on them, if that makes sense. We have just completed our first month on meds again and nothing. Im not overly confident it will happen again. Any tips from moms that have PCOS on what to do to boost the chances? Id like more than 3 (I know, I know) so don't want to wait around.

Look up gluten free for PCOS. When i.go gluten free my cycle is like clock work, I'm healthier and we have conceived the first time each try that way.

Re: PCOS and planning

I have PCOS and I have 6 kids, 9 pregnancies.

1. If you're overweight, try to lose some weight, sometimes even a 15lb loss is enough to put my cycles back into a normal rhythm.

2. Limit sugar as much as possible, cutting it out altogether is best.

3. Take the meds. I've been on Metformin for 10 years. I take it through my pregnancies and everything. It's important for my health, not just getting pregnant.

Good luck!

Re: PCOS and planning

I have PCOS and 7 kids, first 3 with metformin and clomid and last 4 with nothing, biggest help though was to figure out if was a late ovulater at day 21 of my cycle. Agree with the weight loss and gluten free, I'm not overweight at all but just eating healthy and losing even 5 pounds and taking a prenatal when I was trying made a big difference . Good luck!
