Essential oils advice.

Was recently on the pure formula website ordering lanolin and saw they had several Eo on sale. My question is three fold

1: I've heard mixed opinions about safety of Eo with young children in the home? Any advice? Experience?

2: I was considering getting the Now brand since its like half the price and we are just starting out any experience with this brand?

3: they have a subscription box anybody have experience with ordering that? It would be $38 for a diffuser and 3 1floz vials of assorted oils and a second box sent a few months later. Then after that I could continue to receive the boxes which contain 3 more 1floz vials for $18.75

You definitely want to be careful diffusing/applying essential oils to young children, as many can be unsafe for little ones (ie eucalyptus, peppermint). There are brands specifically for kids. I have used KidSafe Sniffle Stopper and have liked it. No experience with the Now brand.

Re: Essential oils advice.

I've been using EOs for years, oh around 8 or so. Some things are common sense, like don't let your baby ingest them, place them by ears or mouth, do use around people with respiratory issues (though for me being an asthmatic I've found some EOs help me breathe easier). You'll also want to use a carrier oil when you use EOs on anyone and dilute the EO more for babies. I use coconut oil. I suggest, just like with normal traditional medicine, that you consult a specialist you trust to help guide you.

When H was having problems at a few weeks old and traditional medicine, and MDs, failed us multiple times we went to a Certified Natural Health Professional, whom is also a fully certified Center for Aromatherapy and Education instructor, and under her direction we started some EOs to help with certain issues. She was also a big help with my now five year old when he was a baby also.

As far as signing up for NOW oils, or really any EO program like that, I wouldn't do it. I buy oils I need when I need them and I research before I purchase anything, checking with my CNHP when necessary. Some oils I use much of and others I don't. I wouldn't want to get stuck with something I don't need or won't use. I have used NOW oils in the past, as well as Young Living, DoTerra, and more, but always seem to go back to Plant Therapy EOs. They also have a "kidsafe" line, which I think is what the previous poster was talking about.

Bottom line is there are safer ways to do things and less safe way to do them. The best place to start is with a professional and then to use your common sense and knowledge about your child and your family to find out what works and works best for you all.
