Have bread rising. I don't think it is working. It would be just my luck if it didn't!

About to go make hamburger soup for supper.

Why do you think it's not working?

It didn't look like it was rising, but in the end it did and it is now baking. We'll see!

As for the hamburger soup, here it is. We are trying it out for the first time tonight.

Bread is funny like that. I sat and watched my bread baking in the oven because it was so fascinating to see it bubble, browner, and rise.

The bread worked! It was pretty dense, so I think it needs a bit more of a rise for me. But I will definitely trying it again. E liked it too, and I can't wait to try it as toast.

Also? That hamburger soup is AWESOME. Definitely going to be one of our new go-to meals.

Re: Basically it's the weekend!

Mel you will get better with the bread each time. I would let it rise more than 35 minutes if you are using regular yeast. Also if using regular yeast I would proof it too.

We are down to 1 loaf of bread and two slices of banana bread. My parents took some of each and I have some packed up for MIL who is on her way to get it.

Jerry said the soup it good, I ate too much lunch and wont be eating the soup today. Tomorrow it will make a good lunch!

I think we will have pancakes for breakfast. MH has been asking for them for a week.
