The yeast does get proofed in the recipe. And the rise on this one is a bit different, because you let it rise in a warmed oven. I think that it definitely needed longer to rise, though. And perhaps a tad more water, as my dough was quite firm. I am excited that I get to keep playing around with it!

I want to try white bread soon.

I have never made a white loaf. I even put a little whole wheat in the cinnamon rolls when I make them.

I like it too but I will eat it ALLLLLLL so I dont make it. MH really is not a fan of white bread nor is Jerry. He like wheat bread better.

My Mood:
Did you put lentils in the soup Mel? Looks great. I made the Sunday night stew by PW and it was very similar. Except served on a bed of mashed potatoes which made it the best thing EVER.

I did indeed add the lentils. You couldn't even tell they were there, but I think they helped thicken the soup a bit.

I have always used green lentils, but I notice the health food store in town had bulk red lentils so I will have to try it. I used the recipe Jen gave you for baguettes, and got good reports but the time I made them gave them all away. I have the Curvy Carrot recipe bookmarked, but I am worried about the rolling. Don't know that I have a rolling pin? Hmmm.

And I personally like red lentils better than green. They cook down and just melt. Very tasty in soup
