Recommend a potty please

This didn't get answered in the potty forum, so I thought I'd try here--

Can anyone recommend a potty for a boy? I think he'd probably respond more to a seat on our toilet.

I like the bjorn with the tall back for a little seats. All the others leaked or when he would pee it would hit the bowl and the shoot out.

As for a potty seat for the toilet I have this great one with a ring on the back that you can hang it from a hook. It has ducks on it and fits great on our long oval toilet. Sorry I can't remember the brand, but I think I either got it on diapers.com or amazon.

Re: Recommend a potty please

we love the Ikea potty and the baby bjorn little potty.

for my boys though, I just sat them on the toilet backwards. they don't feel like they are going to fall in, they don't spray everywhere, and they can climb up onto it by themselves very quickly. Plus it eliminated the need to bring a potty everywhere and useful in public toilets.

I don't know what I'll do with my girl yet

Interesting on sitting boys on the toilet backwards! Good idea. We still haven't tackeld the public bathroom yet. It's a big fear of mine.

DS would only go on a potty seat on the toilet. We have to that are Lightning McQueen with a high splash guard 'cause DS forgets to tuck his penis down enough so the pee doesn't spray everywhere, lol.

I got a potty at Walmart that's shaped like a dinosaur (they also had frogs) that is high in the front (the Dino's horns or whatever) so that DS doesn't spray everywhere. If he uses the big potty (most of the time) we have a toilet seat with a built in toddler seat and he just has to hold his penis down.

We have a Fischer Price froggy potty. It was cheap and comes up higher over the eyes so usually no problem. DS thinks it is pretty cool and sits on it like a recliner so it must be comfy.

We have never used a potty.....just the regular old thing. I was too worried they would have a hard time out in public if they were used to a little seat at home and I didn't want to have to clean it.

Ds 1 used the high back baby bjorn or the baby bjorn ring that sits up on the big potty. It is hard and smooth and had enough of a bump in front to prevent messes. He has always preferred to sit to pee and we had him lean forward to make sure his pee went down, not out! Ds1 trained really early. He was in underwear at age 2.
Ds2 was exactly the opposite. He trained late. He hates to sit. He was outdoor "tree trained" this summer. We got him a Peter potty urinal to transition him to peeing indoors. I found one on craigslist for $15. For poop he used a little Ikea potty until I hid that and had him go on the big one. It was getting ridiculous. Actually he seemed to believe that it "needed washing" and never asked for it again!
So I have quite a variety of potty options for my ds3 someday!
