Stripping diapers-best way?

What's the easiest way to strip diapers and how often is it needed?

It depends why you're stripping.

Penguin Sport Wash, you don't even need to start with clean diapers. Most people strip once a month.

Re: Stripping diapers-best way?

I'm stripping bc yesterday I noticed a smell on my "clean" diapers. It doesn't smell like ammonia and its not strong. It just doesn't smell fresh or have no smell.

What's your wash routine like, type of diapers, what detergent do you use, hard or soft water?

I use rockin green detergent (which I'll be changing after this bag is gone since it's obviously not working well!), medium water-not hard or soft really, and I do a cold rinse, hot wash with detergent, followed by another cold rinse. Hang to dry.

Yeah, RNG isn't that great. I stopped carrying it because I had so many people complain that it stopped working.
Ruby Moon or Lulus is a fantastic alternative. Strip your diapers first and than switch detergent. Try a warm rinse instead of cold, warm water gets out more than cold.

Re: Stripping diapers-best way?

I have only used RLR or blue dawn and I think they pretty much worked about the same. I strip monthly to every 6 weeks or so. We have really hard water and had stink issues, so I do it as a preventative measure.

This may be a crazy question but what is RLR?
