how to wash diapers when diagnosed w/thrush

I/dd were just diagnosed with thrush. We are supposed to apply nyastin to her diaper area. Is this okay to use on my diapers, and do we need to wash differently b/c of thrush? What would anyone reccomend?

We just got over a thrush infection not to long ago. Why did they have you start the cream? Does your DC have a rash? There are tons of diaper creams that are okay for cloth use that help combat yeasty rashes! I use the better butt(er) cream from northern essence! We love it! As for washing the diapers, I just put someTTO in with the wash and sunned them dry! Did they give your DC anything else to take? Are you treating your nipples? If not, you risk spreading the thrush back and forth. Genatin Violet is good to use on nipples for yeast! Also lots of air/ sun time! HTHs

First, I would suggest beginning your little one on probiotics. You can find a product called Primadophilus and it is in powder form. It dissolves in liquid and you can feed that to your LO through a dropper or sippy.

Next, do you have any GSE (grapfruitseed extract)? For your dipes, you can add 15-20 drops of GSE to your wash and it will kill the yeast fungus. Also, putting your dipes in the sun to dry will help kill yeast as well.

You can also add a few (maybe 5, depending on how big your solution bottle is) drops of GSE to your wipes solution and dab your LO's diaper area w/ it!

p.s. You can take GSE as well to help keep the yeast from you!

You can find it in your local health food store. You can also find empty gel-caps and fill those to take orally. GSE can be really bitter when you add it to your beverage.
