Straight to smalls?

Anyone skip the nb sizes and just go straight to smalls?

Re: Straight to smalls?

with our last...we never bought nb. I did only use FB though. We used smalls after her cord was gone. so pretty much after the hospital. We never had any problems or leaks. She was 7lbs 4oz when she came home...this time around I still have not bought nb but I sold a bunch of FB and changed my diapers around to try other things like BB one size, prefolds, Mutt 3sr, wool. So we will see.

Yup - I only have 1 Nb dipe that I've ever used - I made it just to try out a NB pattern. But for the most part we never used NB sized dipes. Financially it just doesn't make sense for us - our babes are 8lbs at birth and fit into smalls within a week or two, so there was no way we were going to invest a lot of money in dipes that only last a few weeks.

I have to admit I was tempted by the Kissaluv's 0, though

This is good to know. DS was 7 pounds 13 oz and DD was 8 pounds 14 oz. The nurses skipped over the nb sposies for her. It sounds as if I should start my nb stash with small covers and infant pfs.

no but I should have...

baby was 9.13 lbs at birth and nb sizes fitr him 6 days...thats it. nb size was a total waste of $$ for me...

except for kl0's & thirsties covers & wool....

otherwise I could have skipped all the other stuff I bought and I bought TONS

Re: Straight to smalls?

No. She really needed newborn diapers in the beginning. Smalls might of fit, but they would of been really bulky

Re: Straight to smalls?

I do a bit of nb and mostly smalls. My babies are somewhere in the 8-9lb range. I get plently of prefolds to use as backups.
