dipes no longer soft... rock hard fabric

DS wears bumkins and the fabric seems to be rock hard where he potties on them. Is their away to make them softer again. I've tried sunning them and that seems to help a little. I've stripped them over and over again. Nothing seems to work... Help!

I had this problem when I line dried. I switched to dryer drying and used dryer balls as well and they softened right up. I have also heard good things about using a little vinegar in the rinse but have not tried it. Good luck!

Bed, Bath, & Beyond has them as well. With the mail ad coupons you can get an extra 20% off if you are on the mailing list.

OP, I agree with drying them for a few minutes in the dryer if you line dry. We use vinegar here with no problems and our dipes are soft.

I use a [I]tiny[I] amount of Downey in my final rinse on all of my diapers I know this is supposed to be a no no, but I was sick of hard prefolds. Havn't had any problems with absorbency
