Those who have other children ?

How has your weight change been with your other pregnancies? Am I probably going to be the odd ball again that loses weight? I was 10lb less the day before dd was born from where I was when I got pregnant.

Re: Those who have other children ?

first of all, so jealous of you! I gained a lot with all my pregnancies.
First pregnancy I gained 30 (but I was really skinny, so I wasn't too huge)
Second pregnancy I gained 50, but swelled a lot
Third pregnancy 30
fourth pregnancy almost 60
I had such good intentions with my fourth pregnancy and I don't know what happened. It was so depressing. I still have 20 pounds to lose to be back at my ideal weight and now obviously that isn't going to happen. Ideally I'd only like to gain 15 this time around, but we'll see how that works out.

You lost weight??!! Seriously, not fair

I gained 50 lbs. with my son, so I am definitely hoping NOT to repeat that (I ate a LOT). I do weigh a little over 10 lbs less now than I did when I first got pregnant with him though, so I am hoping that will give me an advantage. "All things in moderation" is going to be my motto with this pregnancy!

That's my motto for LIFE, especially during pregnancy!
I think I gained about 30 lbs with DS, but I'm not sure. I swelled a lot towards the end, and just quit looking at the scale. As long as he was gaining well, I didn't care too much. I'm back down to where I started before him, so we'll see how this one goes! Haven't gained any yet, but I'm just now 5 weeks.

Re: Those who have other children ?

WIth my first a gained a ton...like over 50lbs. With my 2nd I was determined not to do that again. In th beginning I lost weight. I didn't actually gain any until I was about 6 months. In the end I ended up gaining only 20lbs. I'm hoping to do the same again.

32 w/ DS 15 w/ DD but I ended up at the same place both times.

Unfortunately, I'm about 10 pounds heavier than I was when I started w/ DD so I have a feeling I'm going to get pretty close to the 200 pound mark.

Re: Those who have other children ?

My gall bladder issues were not determined until too late into my second pregnancy to have it removed. So for awhile any nutrients I could keep down went to the baby and I suffered from it. I wiould like to gain a healthy amount but just trying to concentrate on having the baby be healthy, not have any major attacks this time, and have enough energy to take care of dd and not be put on bedrest again.

i started my sons pregnancy at 133(im 5.2) and gained 29lbs. with dd i started at 168 and gained 30lbs. I was horrified! I lost 35lbs since dd was born but i started this pregnancy at 145. so i am going to have to be careful!

Re: Those who have other children ?

25 with my first DS, lost all but five pounds, gained 10 with my second DS (who we lost at 17 weeks, I need to change my siggy) and did not loose it before getting pregnant with my third DS. I gained 60 with him I lost 40 of the pounds but have been stuck for awhile, so I am praying I only gain 15-20 this time.

Re: Those who have other children ?

I gained 25 with my first, about 10 of which was all water. I was back to my pregnancy weight 3 wks after delivery with him. I can't compare my weight gain between pregnancies because my second pregnancy was twins. I gained 40lbs with them. I retained 10lbs of that and I weigh 10lbs over my starting weight with my 1st and 2nd pregnancies. I'm actually hoping to gain a little less than 40lbs this time. Even though 40lbs with twins is a completely acceptable amount of weight to gain with twins, I'd like to try to not retain any this time and hopefully be less than I am now quickly after birth. We'll see how that plan goes.
