Christian Hypnobirth?

I know. Maybe a weird question. But, I love the idea of the relaxation techniques - just not the idea of using a different worldview to achieve it. And with chronic pelvic floor issues (baby was a surprise!), I could really use the help.
So, has anyone done this or heard of such a thing? I don't think we have classes around here, so would the DVD program be easy to adapt to our beliefs? It isn't actually hypnotism, right - just deep relaxation...?

There is not religious inflection in the tracks.
It's relaxation. Imagery, visualization, those type of things.

Thanks for the reassurance, ladies! I've got the book coming from the library, but I'm hoping it will be a great option.

Yes, exactly! I loved learning all the techniques and still use them to help relax. I don't remember them recommending any sort of music choices other than relaxing. But if something makes you uncomfortable just replace it with something you like.

Re: Christian Hypnobirth?

Hypnotism is deep relaxation. If you are deeply relaxed you are in a state of hypnosis.
