I used it for my first, I ended up with a week long prodromal early labor, followed by 48 hours of active labor, then a CSection for malpositioning (OP and brow presentations). The midwives all said I copes incredibly well with what was an unusually long and painful labor. I did end up getting an epidural around hour 42 of active labor because I got so tired, that the focus it took to relax myself was too much at that point of exhaustion. I am trying for a VBAC with baby #2 (due Aug 7th) and have been studying my Hypnobabies at home again and also got the VBAC disc. I think its very informative. I can't say that I didn't feel pain during labor, because I did find it incredibly painful (at least the back labor part), but I felt like the training helped me relax and tolerate the contractions and focus on the pressure not the pain. I really wasn't that uncomfortable until I was at 8 cm for about 16 hours. The midwives have said that if I have a properly positioned baby this time, I could have a fairly fast and easy labor with minimal discomfort! So that's what I'm hoping for. I'm also doing a lot of spinning babies to try and help the baby be positioned better :-)

Re: Hypnobabies mamas

I too am planning on using it in a week (give or take) for my VBAC. I'm feeling pretty confident, but am a little concerned that my husband lost the quick reference guide I contacted hypnobabies for a replacement last week and the cost to ship it to me in time was not feasible. So we have to make do without.

Does anyone have any tips for the day of considering I won't have this quick reference with me?
Or anyone willing to give me a quick synopsis of the birth guide part? I didn't really care for the scripts, since usually me and my husband couldn't stop giggling while he was trying to read them to me, so I don't care about those. Just the other birthing day info.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Also any tips of a good instrumental relaxation track???

I would check out zen tracks on iTunes and the quick reference guide is meh just remember the "peace" or whatever code word you picked and his relaxing touches like on your shoulder or forehead

Re: Hypnobabies mamas

I did hypnobabies last November. I admit I was not the best student but I think it still really helped me achieve my goal of a natural birth. It was my first labor experience and it went great! The nurses all told me that they had never seen anyone in such a positive mood and attitude. I didn't feel much pain but I was extremely tired, I had to push for 3.5hrs she was a little crooked. Good Luck! I hope you have a great experience like I did!
