Received my first Goodmama... questions now...

Okay these might sound funny but remember, I'm brand new to cloth diapers lol.

I was really surprised at how HEAVY the diaper is - holy hannah! Do you keep that snap in soaker in at all times? Like even during the day? It seems SO thick! I can't imagine all of that fitting a baby!

Also, there are so many snaps it makes me dizzy to look at! I'd love to see pics of these on (especially on babies!!!) to see how everyone is snapping them. On a baby do you snap all of the side snaps? Like when you fold in the front wings that wrap around the sides of the baby (towards the back) - do you make sure all of those are snapped to the back wings that wrap around to the front?

Really hoping to see lots of pic's

Thanks mama's!
Jen

It's a little heavier due to the nature of the fabric, the bamboo isn't really light, but it's so absorbent! They really are trim diapers out of some that are out there...

Here's a snapping tutorial for the site: http://www.thegoodmama.com/index.php...id=2&chapter=0

And here's a bunch of pics from her site, too! http://www.flickr.com/groups/437265@N21/pool/

You'll get the hang of it! Oh, and yes, snap all three on each side. That third snap is important to reduce wing droop. That's when the "wings" of the diapers kind of fall down when your LO is movin' and shakin'. HTH!

Okay so I put the GM on my niece to see how it would look (she's 13 months and 18lbs... she's really little for her age). It actually was easier to snap than I thought.

ETA: After only having it on for a quick 3min's (just so I could see it on and take pics) she PEED in it LMAO. Little stinker.

Looks good! My first batch should come in today or tomorrow- how am I supposed to prep them? After they are prepped can I wash them with my pockets? (hot water, hot dry?)

I usually just wash them once to prep. They get more absorbent as you wash them more, but they're just fine for daytime after one wash. I wash them with my pockets and wipes on hot with 2 cold rinses.

I've found that they stay squishy and soft longer if you dry them on medium (or low if you're patient!) When I was drying them on hot they got a little less soft and a little more stiff.
