Weird Remedies that work

I have parotitis. If you Google images you'll feel terrible for me but I got to the doctor early before it got bad.

Anyway part of my treatment is eating Sour Patch kids. Sour candy stimulates the gland and helps flush it out.

It actually is working which I find hilarious.

Do you know of other strange
remedies?

I'm glad you got to the doctor early because that looks painful. I've never heard of eating sour candy as a remedy, it is funny and kind of awesome that it works!

I can't think of any strange remedies I know off the top of my head to contribute at the moment.

Re: Weird Remedies that work

My horribly ramped up gag reflex from pregnancy (I spent the first ~6 months with "morning" sickness each time) won't go away. So I still keep ginger chews around like I did while pregnant, because any congestion in my nose or throat such that my brain thinks I can't breathe, and all of a sudden I'm gagging. The horribly strong taste convinces my body that oh yeah you are still breathing, you can quit gagging now!

Staying on the topic of sore throats, I always thought this was a weird remedy:
Mixing a tablespoonful of honey and a pinch of turmeric powder works wonders for the throat! Anyone else tried this one? Let me know if you have!

urine to get rid of warts! I haven't been successful at it yet though. I'm also trying the TTO instead for the moment.

Probiotic suppository to get rid of yeast infection. I took the juice from homemade sauerkraut and soaked a cloth pad in it. Wore it for a couple hours. It works!
