So a newbie question. What does repeling look like?? Like no water absorbing? Some? Beading w eventual absorption?

What repels on pockets? The lining or the actual inserts? Or both?

What type of inserts are you using? When I used pockets I used microfiber inserts and I would scrub each and every one of them on each side with a nail brush and some dawn dish soap and then wash and rinse over and over thinking it was the inserts (which is probably was at first lol) the lining of the pocket diaper is much more susceptible to build up IMO. There has to be pressure against the lining for the moisture to go through so get some construction paper and put it in the pocket as if it were your insert. Drop a couple droplets of water on the lining and rest your fingers on top as if your baby's bum were in it if it's soaks up the water it's your inserts. If it doesn't it's probably the liner or both HTH I'm kind of a newbie myself
