Carrier Similar to feel of Beco?

I am pregnant again after an 8- year break. I have an older Beco carrier from 10 years ago. It got me through carrying 2 babies until they were 4!! It is definitely looking worse for wear with a lot of fraying so I plan to replace the fabric. I was just going to buy a new one but then my friend has one that fell apart (hardware issue) in less than a year. I read reviews of the same thing happening to others as well.

Is there a carrier with a similar style and feel of Beco? There are so many options that I feel overwhelmed. The Ergo looks so much larger and I like comfort but with a slightly minimalist look.

I've never used a beco but I have used and loved the boba for four years.

I have a beco that hasn't fallen apart yet. Granted, I rarely use it now that DS is 25 lbs and prefers to walk himself. Maybe look for a used beco if that's what you like? Maybe there was a bad batch of hardware in there that you could avoid buying used

Thanks Jen_batten I love the style of the Bobas! So cute and similar looking. I will definitely be considering this.

Elchorrito- I have been taking a look at used. I actually had a relative asking to buy me a carrier so I was trying to pick something out new. Good to know not all newer Becos are bad.

Re: Carrier Similar to feel of Beco?

So I just bought a used Boba off eBay for $25 and ended up asking for prefolds and a water sling from my aunt. I might also buy a used older Beco as they go pretty cheap on eBay to keep in our family car. Thank you for your help!

Jen, you've said before that you have used both bobas and ergos, right? What's the difference between the two? Sorry to hijack, I've been wondering about them too.

I've never used an ergo. I bought the boba over all the other options because it's the only one that does newborn to toddler right out of the box and is still priced the same as the other options.

Oh, I see. I have an Ergo that I really like but it does not work for toddlers, at least not over 2.

The boba comes with the newborn pillow--which is different than all the inserts things that tula and ergo offer. And it has stirrups for toddlers. I've never used them to be honest though. All my kids were small enough at 2 that we were fine without. I do think the boba has a taller panel than the ergo though, if I remember right ergo is one of the shortest ones on the market.
