My Mood:
We have a bunch of hand-me-down NB prefolds, and a couple of fitteds, but here's our quandary:

As soon as I and the newbie are able to travel, we are going to live with my parents in Hawaii for two to three months. I think it will be better to buckle down and spend the $$ for a generous stash of AIOs during this period. How many would you recommend, and do you think the Simplex NB is the best bet?

Re: How many newborn AIOs in this scenario?

I have 24 in my diaper rental and haven't run short yet. DD does sleep 4-5 hours once or twice a day, so we aren't changing every 2 hours. I am washing every other day. If it weren't for having another in cloth as well, I could probably go every 2.5-3 with this number of diapers. I like the simplex NB. No leaks, wash and dry really well. Didn't fit well until about 8 pounds for us and we are still on the smallest waist snaps, so they will last quite a while. I also love my TB Tini Fits. Love the aplix, have the best fit around her legs, and are super soft. The minky also dries a lot faster than the simplex's cotton if that matters to you too. Also have lil joey's, but not a huge fan. Fit the earliest since they are smaller. But they are kind of a pain to wash and dry. And for some reason these are the only one's I have had trouble with leaks from not getting the fit quite right... think maybe the snaps are just not in the right places for my little one. Hope that helps
