Re: night time solutions?....GO!

Hello fellow NYer!

I have used different things over the four children I have CDed. A steadfast favorite of mine has been Sustainable Babyish fitteds, and covers. I have used both wool (which I do not currently use) and PUL covers. I also really loved Knickernappies SuperDos for nighttime, in pockets, but I do not think those are sold anymore.

The Sbish are kind of pricey but they've lasted so long and they're still fully functional!

I really love Sweet Iris. Or Sweet Iris type fabric.

Oh and Sandy's also work well for us with a GMD half-flat as a doubler.

Re: night time solutions?....GO!

Whatever I had on hand under woo. Ds1 was a light wetter. A standard premium prefolds under a wool soaker held him the night through.

Ds2 I used prefolds with doubler as needed, fitteds with doubler as needed, or 2-3 flats. All under wool. Currently our 5 year old bed wetter uses 2 padfolded flats or 2 thick 10"10" wipes. I think they are Sherpa actually, double layer. So four layers and then trifolded making them 12 layers thick. Hmm, never added that up before. No wonder the kiddo waddles a bit when stuffed. Anyway, that is stuffed into his undies and a wool shortie or longies is worn over top. Sometimes he uses fleece pajamas instead now he is 5.

Go ahead & slap my hand but I'll say it. Disposable for over night. Unless I'm changing diapers. In which anything will work.

Re: night time solutions?....GO!

We added a hemp insert to BG freetimes when kid 1 was still diapered.

Right now kid 2 is in fitteds with a wool cover.
We will probably be doing the freetimes and hemp when kid 2 outgrows the fitteds, just as I did with kid 1.

Sigh. I caved and bought disposables for night. Up&up overnights. So far, wet pjs every morning. I'm super annoyed because now I have like half a case of sposies to use up and no advantage over cloth!

Re: night time solutions?....GO!

I love using the sustainable babyish multi/minis for overnight. If they don't cut it I can easily add a high quality flat/prefold padfolded into the diaper cover. I find covers are really important at night too-everyone I know likes thirsties though I don't have many they've always worked, I like the blueberry capris covers for double gusset and flaps to tuck extra padfolded items, I like the rumparooz onesize covers with double gusset, and the bum genius flips with the flaps as well-all great covers. Also, I only own 3 sbish in NB and onesize and they have lasted 3 kiddos so far birth to potty training. So a few good ones with great covers doesn't have to break the bank...and all of my kids have slept 12 hours at some point or another in these.
