separation anxiety in 3 yo?

my DD is experiencing extreme separation anxiety when i drop her off at the sitter's in the mornings. it has been going on for about 3 weeks now, and i am about to go crazy! she will be fine all morning, walking out the door, riding in the car, until we pull up in the driveway. that's when she loses it, and i have to drag her in, kicking and screaming. then she upsets her baby brother and all the other kids, not to mention her mama! it breaks my heart! but as soon as i close the door, she stops. she's fine. i just don't get it!!! there haven't been any changes at home, and the only change i can think of that have occured at the sitter's is 3 kids left to go to preschool recently. is this just a phase, or should i be concerned? what can i do to help make her mornings easier and to ease her anxiety? what could i be doing that makes it worse? she has gone to the same sitter since she was a baby and she has always loved it over there. please someone tell me this is just a phase, and it will pass!

It's a phase and it will pass! My DS is going through the same with preschool. He is too anxious for me to leave him there at this point, but I am sure he will get better. He also went through a similar phase when he was a bit younger, but it was with bedtime. He would freak out as soon as we left his room. I hope this passes soon mama! I think it is more stressful on us than them!

My DS is going through it too. The lady that runs our daycare said its best to be consistent in your goodbye. Don't linger, just give a big hug, and say I will see you this afternoon.

It took a few weeks, but he def got better to the point where he'd just wave and go off and play! We're starting all over again since I have to drop him off now instead of DH

Totally normal for this age too, although its also totally heartbreaking
