Sorry-- wrong forum. Please move!:)

Okay, my little one is always getting into trouble. She's into everything. Today I went out front real fast to throw a few things in the recycle bin on the side of the house. I was gone maybe 30 seconds. My 17 yo SIL was sitting in the family room with the girls. I come back inside and immediately ask-- "Where's Paisley?" I head to my room to look for her, and my SIL yells-- "She's outside!" I of course go running, and we catch her just as she's 3 feet into the street. I of course was near hysterical picturing what could have just happened to my baby. She must have opened the door and gone outside without my SIL noticing. Then she must have been out there when I came back in, but was behind a column or tree and I didn't see her.

I'm still teary thinking about this-- I'm so careful with her. If I ever have to go outside during the day I take my keys and lock the door. I didn't even give it a second thought though with it being a quick drop-and-go with Angie sitting right there. I thought as long as I closed the door she would be fine. Is there any sort of latch mechanism for a front door? I'm thinking of those top latches for the sliding glass doors I've seen. Mamas with mischievious you have any tips for me for the front door? TIA
