hard water+stinky microfiber inserts

Apparently we have hard water- it hasn't caused any issue w/ my PFs or fitteds, but my BG microfiber inserts are starting to stink when peed on. I know I can't use vinegar w/ hard water, so what can I do?

I have super hard water and always use vinegar, its never hurt the diapers. I just posted basically this same question earlier. I did a hot wash with bleach & Tide and the inserts smell good. I will see what happens when we USE one and it gets peed in.

I have Tide clear & gentle and 7th Gen non-chlorine bleach- will that work?

I don't see why not Its worth a shot! I just poured about 3/4-1 full cup of bleach in with the water and 1 scoop of Tide. I let it fill up and agitate a second, then I added all the inserts. I let them run through 1 full wash cycle with hot water, then I did 3 extra rinses. A little bleach goes a long way, only reason I used so much is because I had 30+inserts in the washer, lol.

Re: hard water+stinky microfiber inserts

I had stinky BG microfiber inserts (for 4.0s) and needed to get them nice to sell the diapers. I used a little RLR Laundry treatment and they were great afterward.
