Re: single parents/non-traditional families forum

a non-traditional family forum would be fantastic. i know i would partake in it. even if it was a opt-in forum, so those who didn't want to see if, didn't have too. or a single parent forum.

Re: single parents/non-traditional families forum

Bumping this up again! I am old DS member, but a newly single Momma! I could REALLY use the supportadvice of other DS users at this time, and it would be great to have it located in one place.

I'm not single, but I'm here to support! I think a nontraditional family forum is much needed here.

Re: single parents/non-traditional families forum

I also would love to see a non-traditional family forum. I am a single mom now and def would rather hit up a forum aimed at non-trad families, rather than being in sensitive subjects.

Re: single parents/non-traditional families forum

.
Megan. :! I . A Non-trad subforum would make so much sense. It would let people seeking support about some specific concerns know where to go (not unlike military families having their own area or having a designated area for grief/loss support). I think it's that members w/ non-mainstream family structures end up posting their concerns in or SS (which is a personal for me), since such threads invariably end poorly, with members being offended & getting their feelings hurt, while others frequently moralize &/or target people who are unlike them. , can we do it? I think it would be beneficial for the membership & would lead to less work for mods/admin if we had a space for these specific concerns that are likely to evoke such strong feelings on both side. !

Re: single parents/non-traditional families forum

I post in another forum for single parent/ blended families just because there's nothing like that here.
I totally vote for this!
Maybe we should make a poll?
Is their an administrator that could help with this??

Re: single parents/non-traditional families forum

Agreed. It's not fair that *some* families have to hide in the SS. everyone should be able to get support, or talk about their lives without having to constantly defend themselves or hide in a forum made for *taboo* topics.
