PUL problems
I bought a lot of BG's off of Craigslist way back in January before I had the baby. I got 20 with out inserts for 80. I was super stoked. I bought some BG inserts on here and some clearance Swaddlebees inserts. Feeling ok about our OS stash I splurges on newborn diapers. Baby is now two months old and I pulled these out as our newborn diapers are not working. My diapers are wicking through the PUL! I tried drying them on hot, still wicking. Is there anything I can do? If not I am pretty screwed, I thankfully sold of my newborn stash and bought some more diapers and my husband gave me a KBTM gift certificate for my birthday but were going to have a seriously slim stash if these are worthless... Which I think they are. Can you fix PUL?

Re: PUL problems
Are their any holes that you can see or is it delaminated? Is there a certain area it's wicking through or is is just randomly through out the diaper? You cant really fix PUL if there are holes and such, are they all like that?

They are not all like that I don't believe but maybe 1/3. No holes, it's not like a leak through a hole. It's like wicking on a larger scale

Sadly, they may just be bad. There isn't anything you can do to fix bad PUL. You could put covers over the diapers to get by, though? (This isn't ideal but some mamas do this.)

Re: PUL problems
If the PUL is wicking then chances are either the poly fiber is damaged or there's a heavy build up that it's not absorbing. You'll need to strip it with non-residue detergent like Sport Wash, Sensi-Clean or any similar products.

Re: PUL problems
I have experienced the same thing on virtually every single-layer PUL diaper and cover I have ever used, once they have been used for about 2 years. PUL just wears out after a while.
I remember someone linked a re-waterporoofing spray once from cottonbabies. |

I will try the spray. Just so discouraging another mama would sell me these and not disclose that. This is my first time CDing and if I had skipped getting a newborn stash I would probably just throw in the towel. I knew I would have to replace the elastic and tabs (I already bought half of the kits) but totally would not have wasted my money. She freakin delivered them to me at the children's hospital. I spent what was my food money money (it's costly to have to eat a the cafeteria 24/7 especially pregnant) to buy these. I guess the only perk to be a frequent flyer at the hospital was that the nurses made sure I was being fed. Thanks for letting me rant! I will try the spray!
