I dunked and swished in the toilet before getting a sprayer. I kept the toilet clean and the water is clean

Congrats on the switch to cloth

fyi, my ex caught me spraying diapers out in the tub and informed me that tubs/showers don't drain the way other drains do so this is not a sanitary alternative. I forget the specifics but he was a plum-ber so I believed him. lol

try some disposable liners if you aren't ready to make the investment in a sprayer! and yep you're totally broken in.

Re: Sooo… this probably happens to everyone...

I LOVE my diaper sprayer. If DS has a poop when we are out I bring it home because I can't imagine NOT using the diaper sprayer- and if we will be away from home for a few days I resort to sposies because I can't stand the idea of doing cloth without a diaper sprayer. Spoiled, I know. But I remember very clearly that first poop in a cloth diaper, and thinking "WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO!?!?" It gets easier!

This made me laugh out loud. I dare someone to put it on their baby shower registry.

My six month old DD's poops aren't too bad yet. If there is a plopable chunk, it gets plopped and flushed. Otherwise, I use my son's rejected Can-doos.

Thinking we'll get a diaper sprayer at some point...

Do they SELL these?!?!? I'd buy one. Wiping it out with toilet paper was maddening.

Unfortunately, I live in a historic downtown area, and we don't have a lot of options for rinsing: no "utility sink", no backyard spray hose, and only one toilet. We don't really even have room for another trash in the bathroom (we just barely have a closet for clothes!!!). We're trying to figure out how to put a potty chair in there when she starts learning.

But really good to know about the plumbing and shower thing.
