What didn't you like about it? I played with one yesterday at the store and loved it. The only thing that I didn't love was the canopy but for me that's not a deal breaker. I loved everything else about it and the install is awesome.

I need a decent canopy, I thought it weighed a lot, I've owned a peg perego Sip and I liked it canopy was EH,

This time around I'm looking at a few different ones

What I wasn't crazy about was the bulky ness it seemed to take up a lot of room front to back .

I would also have to by a new stroller and I can do both
I have a Phil and Ted explorer, so I think I'm going to look at something that's more compatible

It's an infant car seat. Cybex Aton. Here's the carseatblog write-up on it.

Re: Weekly Chat Starting Jan 23- The REAL one

hmm. We're just borrowing a friend's graco infant seat. Ours from ds expires this year. We just don't have any $$ since we're probably buying a house this year *hopefully* before the baby comes but we can't start looking til March when our dpayment is saved up.
I've been search CL for double strollers so we'll probably go that route...or keep my eyes open and hope to get lucky at a thrift store, but I am picky about strollers so that might be unlikely!

I plan to go the craigslist/consignment/borrow route as much as possible too. I am picky about carseats though, wouldn't get one used and borrow only if I was sure I could trust it had never been in an accident or had the straps washed (and, of course, not expired!).

Fun fun! I don't know what a jujube BFF is or what a cybex looks like, I'll have to google them.

Praise God!

so so sorry Meg, praying for peace for you and your fam.

I have a sewing machine and it's on my list of things to do this year, learn how to use it!

Had my apt yesterday! can you all help me figure this out?
My last AF was Nov 4. online it said my due date is Aug 10. So that would have made me 11 weeks and 3 days yesterday right? (or is it 4 days? How come I cannot figure that out???)

My midwife said my due date was Aug 11. She gave me some kind of facts and numbers and such. Then she said that I was 11 weeks and 5 days??? That would mean that on Thursday I'd be 12 weeks but Aug 11 is a Saturday???? ETA- I just looked it up online and I am 11 w 3 days today so she must have read her little circle thing wrong. Still weird about changing the date but I don't care, one day doesn't matter much.

Anyway, hb was 170 and she found it fairly fast! I couldn't stop smiling. I asked her about heartrate and boy/girl and she said it's an old wives tale. But yes, according to the tale the higher the more chance it's a girl.
I am due the 10th.

Afm, ds is sick. I have never seen him so sad. We don't normally allow him to watch tv (a football or bball game a week) but we have both been on the couch all morning watching nick jr and pbs.
This is why we don't do them either. I think about it every time, but we never do because the false positive rate, and I'd be a mess the entire time. I think my dr said it best yesterday, if you don't plan to abort or have a huge reason to think there might be issues it's probably best not to get it. You will just worry, and most lead to an amnio which carries a risk in itself.

Anyways long story short it was not my water leaking it was just my bodies response to the stitch.

Pregnancy was so long and hard with DS I am just feeling a little panicky about facing all that again and having to leave DS when I am in the hospital. Hopefully it wont happen, but its a real possibility.
I'll be keeping you in my thoughts!

I go back and forth with DH. He's been absolutely amazing, but he's getting tired of having to do so much and he's being cranky. So we've been arguing more, once I start feeling a little bit more like myself it'll go back to normal. For me though, I always have one person that I can't stand during my pregnancy. I've already found out who that is this pregnancy.

DH was released a day early and is on his way home tonight.

We are definitely sad, but joey has been very sick three times back to back since I got pregnant. Previously he hadn't been sick since he was four months old in daycare. I think we are just going to get everyone healthy and try again as soon as we can after that.

I look forward to seeing your babies in August! Here's to NO more losses for this month!
I'm so sorry

How long is it before a carseat expires? 5 or 7 years? I need to check DS's. I would love to get a lot of stuff for the baby but unfortunately we won't have a lot of extra money this time around. A local church does a huge consignment sale twice a year and I told DH we were going to make a point to go both times, to see if we can get a cosleeper and a stroller for a decent price. Our CL basically sucks when it comes to finding stuff. It's usually all walmart stuff or they want just as much as they paid for it.

I worry about DD not getting enough attention as the middle child - she just turned 1 on Saturday! That, and there are the logistics of figuring out sleeping, clothing, etc, spaces for three kids in our tiny place (2 bedroom, about 1100sq ft). I know it'll all work out though!

We told our families over the weekend too. First told DH's side at DD's 1st birthday party on Saturday. I changed her into a shirt that said "Surprise! I am going to be a BIG sister! August 2012". DH's aunt noticed right away, his mom took forever, then just kept saying "I can't see it"(the shirt). They said congrats, but it wasn't very enthusiastic. MIL didn't say anything negative directly, but made a few annoying comments. We finally had our family pictures taken this past November and had them up on the wall (pretty much the first time we've had real family pics taken). She mentioned how they aren't any good anymore cuz there's no baby bump in it. Umm, ooook, I suppose I wasn't technically pregnant yet. But they're certainly still good! I love seeing my family and my kids featured! And, gee, family dynamics change all the time. That's our family at that time. Maybe we could...gosh, oh, I donno... get new pictures when the baby comes! (Duh!)
Then on her way out the door she completely joked about DH getting this job and me being able to stay at home. I said "haha, yea, I'd even have a good reason to" (as in three kids). Her reply was a very loud "Bullsh*t!!" I know she doesn't understand how much I'd aboslutely love to be a SAHM, but I'm pretty sure she know's I'd at least like to. I know we aren't raking in the dough and spending friviously like she is, but she can be so narrow minded! It's frustrating!

Sorry for the vent! We work very hard to just say 'whatever' and not worry about what his family says, but it does help to whine a little. Sorry!

We told my family on Sunday (also with the shirt at DD's bday party for my side). My sisters and mom were excited. Though my mom was more excited about finally being able to talk about it! She figured it out awhile ago, I just wasn't ready confirm it. Haha, apparently my mom and dad were at a work party last week and were asked how many grandkids they had. Dad said 9, but Mom said maybe 10. Dad didn't even think that it was me, but rather my sister who has 4 and is adament about not wanting more. Funny. I think he was the most surprised.

Even after telling family, I think I am still in denial! I am starting to feel better, but usually still feel like crap in the evenings. Thankfully my MS is much more mild than some others, but it's still not fun. I'm still constantly exhausted, but DD has also been having a hard time at nights recently, so I rarely (er, never) get enough sleep.

I'm glad that we told people, but kinda sad that it wasn't better received on DH's side (though we knew it wouldn't be). I guess I'm just having a hard time believing it myself. And DD is such a clingy mommy's girl, I worry about being able to still give her enough.
I feel like I could have written this exactly! DD turns 1 in March and I worry about her being the middle child. DS is a demanding kid so she doesn't get a ton of attention as it is, and now I'm worried she'll get very little. She's a big mommy's girl too, and still not STTN and nursing pretty frequently. I know it'll all work out in the end but I worry a lot about it. Maybe it will bring her closer to DH though, and maybe they'll get along better because they are closer. I know people have kids close all the time, but I generally like for one to be sleeping through the night before another one comes. And it just sucks getting up at night, being exhausted from being pregnant, and being sick. And I can't even get naps because she won't nap more than an hr or so and DS refuses to nap. And I don't know what we're going to do as far as where the baby will sleep once it gets a little older and who's going to have to share rooms, and where all the baby stuff is going to fit. It's a lot to figure out<-- sorry for the pity party, didn't mean to get into one, I just wanted to say I know exactly how you feel.

I'm sorry your DH's family wasn't more supportive.

I had a super early bump with DD, like at 10 weeks I looked 5 months pregnant and had been in maternity pants since 8 weeks. It was so weird! I didn't show until almost 7 months with DS, and super early with her.

AFM- I woke up on Sunday was an insane amount of energy. I did a ton and by the time the kids went to bed I was worn out and had accomplished a lot, but my hips were killing me! I'm apparently making up for it now because I've had no energy since and have been feeling horrible. I wasn't sleeping well at all last week, but I had a huge talk with DH about stuff that was on my mind and that seemed to help. I was worried about his thoughts on some stuff and he surprised me and was very supportive and actually had stronger opinions on the matter than I did. It was a HUGE relief.

We had our u/s dr's appt yesterday. We have 3 possible due dates lol, he's just going with my LMP. The baby is measuring a little small, about 4-5 days behind but my kids are always tiny. The baby was wiggling around and constantly moving, even waving. It was so cute to see. We've never gotten to see our kids moving this early on. I've lost 11lbs now, which I don't like but I can't do much about. I've dropped down a clothing size and I don't have many pants options right now, and of course buying new stuff doesn't make sense. I'm not sure what to do so I've been wearing sweats as much as possible and reusing the same 2 pair of pants when I have to wear jeans. Everything is going great though and the dr was incredibly supportive about breastfeeding still. He even said that he would like to see me go past a year, but once it got closer to delivery I'd have to watch carefully for contractions so we don't have issues with preterm labor but everything should be fine.

We are going to tell DS soon, we have been too busy the last few days to do it before DH heads off to work and I didn't want to tell him until we knew everything was ok. Then I guess we'll announce on FB. I'm really not looking forward to the comments though. Maybe people will surprise me?
