I would wean probably around 3 if she hasn't self-weaned by then...
To each their own as I always say.

Re: At what age will you consider weaning?

dd just stopped around 13 months, I was going to start weaning her at 14 months so it worked out perfect...
I don't think it's a good idea after 2 at longest, they are just a little old for that but thats just me... lots go it longer I guess.
Just don't do it out in public after they are 1 imo..

Umm wow.
You maybe surprised to find your child asking for it long before they can verbally speak.
Even those who were BFed til 2 or 3 can have memories of it.

I don't breastfeed, but I know my sister-in-law breastfed both her kids (2 years apart) and she was still breastfeeding the one when the younger was born... I think she weaned them both at the same time but not sure.

Re: At what age will you consider weaning?

To answer the poll I said 4-5 yrs is when i'd probably consider weaning if she had not weaned before then.
I also wouldn't NIP after 3.5-4 just because of the way society is my toddler/preschooler doesn't need people to make nasty comments to her mother about NIP.

Between 1 and 2. I nursed DD til she was 14months and I plan to do the same with my next LO.

Re: At what age will you consider weaning?

My ds is almost 16 mo and is still going strong. I also want to give a big to all of the mamas who still NIP after the age of "acceptability" I think it totally helps to normalize BF and that your baby does not have to be itty bitty to benefit from bm.

Re: At what age will you consider weaning?

When DS1 was born I wanted to make it until 1 yr and got pg again at 13 months and weaned him at 14 months (partly because I was spotting and was worried if bfing and pg together was too much for my body). With DS2 I weaned at 22 months because of pg again ... would have gone until at least age 2. I would say I would want to wean by 2.5 though--that would be my latest with DD.

Re: At what age will you consider weaning?

Before Aydin was born I wanted to nurse at least 1 year but not longer than 18 months old. Once Aydin was a year old I didn't want to nurse past 2 years old.

Seeing as how Aydin is turning 3 in less than two weeks and still nursing, I voted between 3-4 years old.
